ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Summer Call for Classes

Faculty who wish to teach during an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Summer must submit the Summer Course proposal form.

ALL Departments must submit all summer class offerings (on-campus and online) by May 1st. We encourage all summer courses be finalized by November 4th so students can begin planning and registering for your courses. Current students are eligible to register for summer at the same time they register for Winter and Spring courses.

Getting an early start on online course development is critical. Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) will provide technology training and support for faculty teaching summer online courses throughout the Spring semester. Online faculty will be supported by TLT’s Learning Design and Support Team for creating syllabi for online courses, accessible course modules in Moodle, lecture videos, engaging online activities, and relevant assessments.  An Instructional Technologist from the Learning Design and Support Team will contact all Summer faculty around mid-February.  If you would like to start developing your course sooner, you can  or call 336-278-5200.

Instructors must be logged into to securely submit the new online form. Please read the  for information about connecting to VPN on your mobile device. Requests will be automatically routed to the appropriate department chair and dean.

Faculty Pay in Summer

It is understood and agreed that in consideration for your services, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ will pay faculty 1/12th of their previous year annual salary or the maximum adjunct pay, whichever is greater. Eight enrolled students are needed for a course to run with full compensation for the instructor. If enrollment is less than eight, the instructor will be given the option to teach the course with compensation prorated based on the number of students. The University reserves the right to cancel non-guaranteed courses and instructor payment when five or fewer students are registered.
