Student Groups
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ has a number of student groups that address sustainability andÌýenvironmental interests. Student organizations are topical in focus and open to all students. Any student organization can and should strive to be sustainable in their actions. The Green Guide for student organizations highlights a variety of opportunities to be more sustainable.
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Community Garden
TheÌýÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Community GardenÌýis a place for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students, faculty, staff, children, and community to come together.Ìý It was initiated byÌýanÌýenvironmental ethics courseÌýin the fall of 2006 to foster education, spirituality, service, community discussion and sustainability and was fully established by a student as part of a senior thesis project.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ OutdoorsÌýoffers students several opportunities to experience the natural world each semester with programs such as canoeing, rock climbing, kayaking, backpacking, white water rafting and sailing.

Campus Kitchen
Campus Kitchen at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµÌýwasÌý. It is also a part of theÌýÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ VolunteersÌýProgram in theÌýKernodle Center for Civic Life. Campus Kitchen utilizes vegetables from Loy Farm as well as unserved food from campus dining facilities and engages students asÌývolunteers who prepare and deliver meals to the community.

Habitat for Humanity
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµâ€™s Chapter of Habitat for Humanity focuses its efforts to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness in the local area by pledging to raise the cost of one house and build a house in Alamance County each year.Ìý

Animal Protection Alliance strives to create a community of people who advocate for plant-based (vegan, vegetarian) options on campus, volunteer with animals in the community, and discuss issues regarding environmentalism, health, and animal rights.

Students for Peace & Justice is a student run social activism organization that strives to educate and act to create a better world for all.
Enactus
EnactusÌýisÌýan international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders.
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Microfinance Initiative (EMI)
The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Microfinance Initiative (EMI) works locally and internationally to promote sustainable giving by providing support to small business owners. OnÌýa local scale, the group provides creative work and networking assistance to small business owners, while its international impact is made through Kiva.org loans to developing countries and businesses.Ìý
