Since graduating in 1946, Dr. J. Earl Danieley spent 70 years serving ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and touching the lives of thousands. 

Dr. J. Earl Danieley, 92, president emeritus of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and one of North Carolina’s strongest advocates for higher education, died November 29 at the Village at Brookwood in Burlington, N.C.

A fellowship created by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ in 2008 will help support excellence in ongoing research and creative work by Lauren Kearns, Toddie Peters and Laura Roselle.

The professorship is funded by an endowment from Trustee Edward Doherty and his wife, Joan, of Saddle River, New Jersey.

The test of the outdoor alarm and emergency alert systems by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Campus Safety and Police will take place at 10 a.m. and will last about three minutes.

The 220-seat theater is located in the new Dwight C. Schar Hall and was funded by a gift by the Turner family. 

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Poll conducted three surveys this fall, with the final one coming a little more than a week before Election Day.

The Guilford County Association of Black Lawyers awarded scholarships to Andreas Mosby L’17 and Vondella Smith L’17, and then presented a lifetime achievement award to retired North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Henry Frye, at its inaugural gala.

Along with the traditional celebration of Veterans Day events, the university is hosting Military Appreciation Day for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's football game at Rhodes Stadium. 

These faculty scholars will be provided with relevant sustainability resources and pedagogies through a variety of unique opportunities such as speakers, workshops, field trips, and article or book discussions.
