Forty-eight students received their doctor of physical therapy degrees at a commencement ceremony in McCrary Theatre on Sunday, Dec. 11. 

The White Coat Ceremony marks the start of intensive clinical learning experiences for the 38 members of the program's Class of 2018. 

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ alumnus and acclaimed filmmaker was recognized as part of the grand opening celebration of the school’s new high-definition movie theater in Dwight C. Schar Hall.

Edward and Joan Doherty of Saddle River, New Jersey, have made a gift to provide scholarships for talented scholars who need financial assistance.

The National Council on Teacher Quality placed ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ above the 90th percentile based on the quality of its teacher education programs. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ parents Ken and Malinda Gill of Charlotte, N.C., are among the donors who have recently made generous gifts to support the Schar Center, the university’s new 5,400-seat convocation center.

The endowed professorship was established by Trustee Wesley Elingburg and his wife, Cathy, in 2007.

 

Jonathan Albright, assistant professor of communications, is exploring the connections between websites distributing "fake news" and propaganda and the tools used to track reader preferences. 

Dr. Danieley, who died Tuesday at the age of 92, will be honored in multiple ways during events on Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3. 

 

Since graduating in 1946, Dr. J. Earl Danieley spent 70 years serving ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and touching the lives of thousands.
