Parents, students, community leaders and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ administrators gathered Tuesday for a half-day conversation on the future of Jewish culture on campus as the number of Jewish students continues to grow and as the university embarks on a commitment to global engagement and diversity in its newest strategic plan.

A special Residential Campus Committee has spent the past year drafting a plan that will transform ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's living-learning environment. Through a new website, the committee is inviting a campus conversation about the details of this initiative, a major goal of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Commitment strategic plan.

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine has ranked ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ among the nation’s top 50 best values in private higher education and the #9 university in lowest total costs, a distinction published in the magazine’s December edition. The 2010-11 ranking is the fifth consecutive top-50 placement of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ by Kiplinger’s.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ has launched the public phase of the largest fundraising campaign in the school’s history. The Board of Trustees voted Oct. 10 to set a goal of raising $100 million by 2011 through Ever ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ: The Campaign for the Future of Our University.

More than 250 people gathered in McKinnon Hall Monday night for the university’s annual scholarship dinner. Donors of need- and talent-based academic scholarships met with their student scholarship recipients and heard an update on the Ever ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Campaign and presentations from two Lumen Scholars.

Phi Eta Sigma, a national honor society for first-year students, welcomed its newest members from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ on Oct. 25, 2010, in a McKinnon Hall ceremony to celebrate their academic achievement.

Former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf talked about the qualities of leadership, the conflict in the Middle East and many other topics during an intense one-hour class session with International Relations students on Oct. 13.
