Alumni Field House opens

Athletics staff and coaches began the move into Alumni Field House on Jan. 14. The 30,000-square-foot facility at the north end of Rhodes Stadium in the North Athletics Complex is the new headquarters for Phoenix athletics.

Students to blog while studying abroad for Winter Term

The Isabella Cannon International Centre is hosting a blog for parents and friends to stay connected with students traveling to nations such as Ghana, Peru and Australia.

The Southern Conference announced this week its Academic All-Conference Team for the 2010 fall season, with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ at the top of the list of conference schools for the number of student-athletes who excelled in the classroom.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ trustees establish 56-acre ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Forest

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees voted Oct. 22 to designate a 56-acre undeveloped tract north of University Drive as the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Forest, a dedicated land preserve and natural area. The action protects the largest remaining intact forest in the Town of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ and safeguards thousands of species of plants, animals and other organisms.

A special report by the Chronicle of Higher Education on graduation rates at 1,400 four-year colleges and universities highlights ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's improving rates at a time when many other schools are experiencing declining numbers. In this study, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ ranked #16 out of more than 300 private master's-level universities, the top school in the Southeast in this category.

Career Moves: Alum lands job with Macy’s through Career Services

Heather Couture ’10 realized halfway through her studies at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ that a public relations career simply didn’t fit her interests. The fashion industry, however, was a different story, and a senior year visit to Career Services led to her involvement with the Macy's Buying/Planning Executive Development Program in New York City.
