Brett Evans ’13, co-owner of Piedmont Biofarm in Pittsboro, gave a talk titled “From Liberal Arts to Local Agriculture: a Young Farmer’s Views on Food.”

The reporter at KOMO-TV in Seattle and recipient of four regional Emmys during his television career presented one of his awards to Communications Dean Paul Parsons to display in the school’s lobby.

The awards program highlights and celebrates alumni who have graduated within the past decade and who are distinguished in their professions and invested in the future of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and its community.

A ceremony marking the removal of a portion of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s west wall united town and gown leaders to celebrate the university’s continued growth.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ has received several questions and expressions of concern regarding this week’s action by the North Carolina legislature prohibiting local government non-discrimination laws.

The College Media Association honored the student news organization with an Apple Award, and a School of Communications staff member and alumnus offered presentations at the convention.

Winners will know if their work will enter the national contest in April.

Senior journalism major Gary Grumbach and Kate Murphy '15 were both honored in the same multimedia competition.

Professor and author Danielle Keats Citron delivered the spring keynote address Thursday night in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Lecture program, which aims to promote healthy relationships between young men and women and prevent domestic violence.
