An ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ professor traveled to Suriname this spring to help its largest university develop a stronger physical therapy program in an impoverished nation with few trained therapists.

A university librarian spent a week in Mexico last month tutoring students in English, and now that she is back on campus, Dianne Ford wants to start a program that takes ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students there each spring to help their counterparts learn the language.

Students in select classes have the chance to skip traditional course evaluations this spring and instead offer feedback about professors in a new online program put together by the Academic Council.

Sophomore All-American football wide receiver Terrell Hudgins and senior All-Southern Conference women’s basketball point guard Tierra Bumbrey came away with Stein H. Basnight Outstanding Athlete Award honors at the 34th Annual ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Athletics Awards Banquet on May 13.

Faculty and students in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ College, the College of Arts and Sciences, were honored May 8 in a ceremony that celebrated outstanding achievement both in and out of the classroom.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s club lacrosse team was eliminated from its first ever MCLA Divsion II National Championship tournament appearance when the team fell 19-10 to the University of St. Thomas on May 14 in Texas.
