Six students will travel to the remote highlands of central Morocco
this month as part of a service trip to tutor children learning English
and to observe firsthand how residents of the impoverished region are
developing profitable cottage industries.

A team from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ flew to Zambia in May to gather
interviews for a documentary under development by the Periclean
Scholars Class of 2009. The group, which is also developing a Winter
Term program that involves Habitat for Humanity, shared its work on a blog and has produced a short video explaining its mission.

Record. The column, "Rate Greensboro's Future," dealt with rating the
preferred future vision of Greensboro and the region on three scales.
Pericles sabbatical assists N.C. Forest Service

Brian Chandler volunteers his time with a local fire department. But
for the month of April, the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ HVAC mechanic learned how
to control brush fires that promote healthy forests, and to monitor
logging companies that work near water supplies.
