Scholarships
In addition to the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Teaching Fellows and North Carolina Teaching Fellows programs, numerous additional sources of scholarships and other financial support are available to students in the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education. See below for information about scholarships and forgivable loans as well as how to apply for support for other expenses.
Endowed Scholarships
Each spring, the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education invites applications for our endowed scholarships. Students considering applying are encouraged to have a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with the university. The scholarship details and application are communicated in the spring semester via email to all students within the Watts Williams School of Education.
A Scholarship Committee of faculty from within the Watts Williams School of Education reviews applications and awards are announced at the end of each spring semester.

Gift funds to support student research, projects, or emergencies
Thanks to , gift money is available to support specific needs for students enrolled in the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education. The Stewardship Committee encourages you to apply for support if you have an emergency need. You may also apply for funding to support your undergraduate research including registration and travel expenses if you attend and present your work at a conference. Gift funds may be used for projects in your P-12 classrooms and for special student-led projects such as the  and The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Network. In addition, gift funds may support travel both here and abroad for students with financial need.

Forgivable Education Loans for Service (FELS)
Forgivable Education Loans for Service “provide financial assistance to qualified students enrolled in an approved education program and committed to working in critical employment shortage professions in North Carolina.” For the current academic year, approved programs/shortage professions include teachers of math, science, middle grades, and special education. FELS loan recipients are required to teach in an approved position in a North Carolina school in order to repay the loan; generally, a loan for one academic year will be forgiven for one year of full-time employment.
