Ƶ Experiences
“Hold on tight! You will work harder than you probably expect, but it will be worth it! Also, make sure to take time from work to build relationships.”
– Advice for your first year
The Ƶ Experiences are a collection of dynamic programs that emphasize applying academic learning in experiential contexts through study abroad, service, internships, leadership, and undergraduate research. These experiences reflect Ƶ’s core values: an appreciation for cultural diversity, an ethic of service, a strong work ethic, a commitment to civic responsibility and a love of learning. Participation in the Ƶ Experiences is an essential part of every student’s preparation to be a lifelong learner and global citizen. Every Ƶ undergraduate is required to complete at least two Experiential Learning Requirements as part of the Core Curriculum.
Faculty are encouraged to teach study abroad or service-learning courses, mentor students in research projects, supervise their leadership and internship experiences, and join in service done by campus organizations or the Kernodle Center. Links to more information – and who might serve as first contact – are provided below.
