ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Wind Ensemble performs at Carnegie Hall on March 11, 2026.

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Wind Ensemble is a contemporary wind ensemble focused on the performance of a wide variety of established and newly composed repertoire at the highest level possible. Comprised of approximately 40 of the finest instrumentalists at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, the ensemble includes music majors, music minors, and non-music majors who perform at an advanced level on woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments, as well as double bass, piano, and harp.

The Wind Ensemble performs a series of four concerts throughout the year and rehearses twice a week in the fall and spring. This schedule allows students enough time to participate in the ensemble and still have time to explore other musical experiences or take advantage of other opportunities that ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ offers. In March 2026, the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Wind Ensemble made its Carnegie Hall Debut by serving as the showcase ensemble for the 24th annual New York Wind Band Festival. Registration to join the wind ensemble is open to any student at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ with experience playing a wind or percussion instrument. Auditions are required to join the ensemble and are held at the beginning of each semester. Sign-up sheets for these placement auditions will be posted outside the band room (CFA 164) one week before school begins. If you have any questions about the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Wind Ensemble, feel free to email Dr. Poquette at jpoquette@elon.edu.
