ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ was pleased to welcome nine accomplished law professors to present scholarly works-in-progress during the 2012-‘13 academic year, on subjects ranging from transnational anti-corruption laws to tax law to the intersection of art, commercial speech and trademark law.

Legal Aid of North Carolina reports that ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law student Caroline Mauch L'14 won her first hearing on behalf of a client as an intern with the organization's Senior Law Project in Asheville, NC. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Professor Scott Gaylord contributed to the Room for Debate section of the New York Times, writing about the changing power dynamics between state and federal government. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law alumni who are excelling as attorneys in law and consulting firms, corporations and government agencies recently reflected on valuable aspects of their legal education, including small class sizes, students’ close working relationships with faculty, the breadth of professional networking opportunities offered at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and the law school’s emphasis on trial advocacy and communication skills development. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Professor Scott Gaylord offered insights about recent state legislation and court decisions related to abortion laws this week. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Professor Michael Rich presented on technologies that can prevent crime and immigration law enforcement at the June meeting in Boston.

In 2013, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Professor Peter Hoffman has delivered numerous lectures and administered foreign and domestic training in trial procedure and advocacy.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law alumnus Collin Cooper L’12 was recently named Associate Editor of The Young Lawyer, a publication of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the American Bar Association (ABA), as well as an ABA YLD Scholar for 2013-2014.

David M. Crowe, professor of legal history at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law and professor of history at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, presented scholarship at the Southern Conference on Slavic Studies and the annual convention of the Association for the Study of Nationalities.
