Genna Petre, Class of 2015, has been selected for the Attorney General’s Honors Program with the U.S. Department of Justice, the most prestigious federal entry-level hiring program of its kind. 

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., join the International Civil Rights Center & Museum and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law in celebrating the 150th anniversary of the 13th Amendment, the first of the civil rights amendments. Speaker William M. Carter, Jr., dean and professor of law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, will lead a conversation about the 13th Amendment and its use in contemporary civil rights legislation and litigation.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ professors and students filled McKinnon Hall on Aug. 27, 2014, to discuss race, privilege and justice following the Missouri police shooting death of an unarmed black man and subsequent protests that have galvanized the nation.

Comprised of 112 students, representing 21 states, and 74 colleges and universities, the ninth entering class at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law began immediately to learn and make an impact through community service and intellectual exchanges during orientation week, held August 18-22.

Delivering the Call to Honor at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s new student convocation, nationally prominent lawyer Robert J. Grey, Jr. underscored for members of the Class of 2017 the importance of law to democracy and justice to the United States.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Dean Luke Bierman today announced attorney and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law alumna Gwendolyn W. Lewis as the law school’s founding Alumni Director.
