The Peninsula Pilots, of the Coastal Plains collegiate summer baseball league, honored Vic Zodda '45 at a game on June 28. Zodda served as general manager of the "Baby Dodgers," a Class A affiliate of the Brooklyn Dodgers that played in nearby Newport News, Va., in the 1940s and '50s.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Alumni Field House has earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, which awards the internationally recognized benchmark for design, construction and operation of high-performance, environmentally friendly buildings.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's board of trustees has approved the naming of the residence halls in the Colonnades Neighborhood, as well as three buildings in Danieley Center. The new names honor former ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ presidents, trustees and alumni.

Several major campus construction projects outlined in the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Commitment strategic plan are under way, with completion expected this summer on some work, while other projects are getting started. Following this spring’s construction bidding process, timelines for several projects have been established.
