ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ men win in first cross country meet ever held on ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ campus

The Phoenix men's cross country team took first and the women's team took second in the inaugural ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Invitational cross country meet held Sept. 12 on the new course developed on South Campus. The men's race covered 8 kilometers and the women's race was on a 5K course. The race was a chance for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ athletics to tune up for the Southern Conference championship meet, which will be hosted by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Oct. 31.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ alumnus Frank Haith named USA Basketball assistant coach

Frank Haith, a 1988 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ graduate and head men's basketball coach at the University of Miami, will serve as one of two assistant coaches on the 2009 USA Basketball World University Games Team, which will compete in the 24th World University Games July 2-12 in Belgrade, Serbia.

Senior dons Phoenix feet to accept diploma

Forget the “girly girl” high heels. When Caitlin Pascarelli walked across stage this weekend to accept her diploma, she sported the oversized black boots to the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Phoenix mascot uniform that disguised her identity at countless university functions in recent years – and it was the first time since the Phoenix was born in 2000 that the student behind the beak has publicized her role at Commencement.
