Lindner Hall outfitted with crowning steeple

Lindner Hall, the latest addition to the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ campus, was topped with a steeple Jan. 15. The 39-foot tower was capped by a copper dome and spire. Lindner Hall in the Academic Village is scheduled for completion this summer and will serve as the new headquarters of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ College, the College of Arts and Sciences.

Philip Craft named director of communications for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ School of Law

Philip A. Craft has been named director of communications for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ School of Law. He joins ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Law after serving seven years as deputy chief of staff and press secretary for U.S. Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (N.Y.) and three years as director of communications and marketing for City Parks Foundation in New York City.

35 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ student-athletes earn fall 2008 academic all-conference honors

Thirty-five ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ student-athletes received academic all-conference recognition by the Southern Conference during the fall season. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ ranked #2 among the 12 SoCon schools in the number of athletes earning recognition. To be eligible, a student-athlete must possess at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average entering the fall season and must have competed in at least one-half of their team’s competitions during the recently-concluded fall campaign.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students prepare for their role in statewide DTV test

About 25 students gathered Jan. 12 for training in preparation for this week's digital television transition test in North Carolina. The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students will staff the statewide hotline phone bank which will be headquartered in the TV studio at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's School of Communications.
