The Feature Phoenix video series offers a new way to learn about how Ƶ’s organizations and clubs reflect the university's approach to inclusive excellence.
The Feature Phoenix series is a way for all students to learn about student organizations and clubs and how they are being inclusive on campus. Episode 11 introduces Emily Stuart ’26, who serves as co-lead civic ambassador of Ƶ Votes!
Ƶ Votes! is a nonpartisan resource that was developed by the Ƶ Political Engagement Work Group, Council on Civic Engagement and Kernodle Center for Civic Life. The organization’s goal is to help Ƶ students by registering to vote and casting their ballots in upcoming elections.
Ƶ Votes! was launched in 2014 and is housed in the Kernodle Center for Civic Life in Moseley Center 232. Ƶ has since been committed to promoting civic engagement and participation.
“I think it’s a community here at Ƶ Votes and we want it to be not just our leadership and ambassador team to be the community, but a community that everyone in the school can engage with,” said Stuart. In the video, she shares the goals of Ƶ Votes and how the organization works toward promoting inclusive excellence. “One way we practice that is through collaborations.”
As part of Ƶ Votes!, Stuart oversees the Ƶ Civic Engagement Ambassadors, a team of student volunteers who help inform the Ƶ community about voting resources.
