Police training strengthens crisis plans

Dozens of police officers and emergency medical crews gathered July 17 at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ for a daylong training exercise meant to sharpen law enforcement responses in the event of a campus crisis.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ police and campus safety, in coordination with local law enforcement agencies, will conduct a daylong crisis training exercise on Thursday, July 17, which will affect traffic, activities and parking in certain areas of campus.

Coker receives grant for plant biology project

Jeffrey Coker, an assistant professor of biology at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ, and a team of two additional biology professors have received a $30,000 grant from the American Society of Plant Biologists Education Foundation for their science education outreach program. It is the second grant in as many years for the team.
