Step 1: Log in to Canvas

You can access Canvas using your ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ credentials atÌý/canvas

  • Log in using your ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ username and password (SSO)
  • Once logged in, you’ll land on your Canvas Dashboard

Step 2: Explore your Dashboard

Your Dashboard is your home base in Canvas.

Here, you’ll see:

  • Courses you’ve been assigned to teach in Fall 2026 (unpublished)
  • One sandbox or practice course

Take a few minutes to click around and get familiar with the layout. You don’t need to change anything yet.

Step 3: Try a sandbox or course

If you’ve been assigned a sandbox or have access to a course:

  • Open the course from your Dashboard
  • Explore the navigation menu on the left
  • Click into pages, assignments, or modules

This is a low-stakes space to explore. Nothing you do here will impact your Fall courses.

(If you need additional sandboxes, you can .)

Step 4: Understand your courses

In Canvas:

  • Courses you are assigned will appear on your Dashboard
  • You may need to accept invitations to join some courses

What to expect next

At this stage, your goal is simply to explore.

When you’re ready, you can begin:

  • Reviewing how your Moodle content transfers to Canvas
  • Organizing materials for future courses
  • Attending a workshop or drop-in session

You can move into course preparation whenever it makes sense for you.
