Annual fund gifts are vital to the life of the university. These gifts are received and spent in the same year, going to work immediately to support the best of Ƶ—quality academics, student scholarships, outstanding faculty, premier facilities and distinctive opportunities such as the Ƶ Experiences (study abroad, internships, undergraduate research, service learning and leadership opportunities).
Your yearly gift of $25, $50 or $100 makes a big impact. Last fiscal year, gifts of $100 or less totaled more than $717,000. Imagine how many more lives we could change if you committed to a monthly gift for the duration of Ƶ LEADS. There is strength in numbers.
Second nature giving
As a former student-athlete, Robbie Seebold ’17 has felt the impact of donors on a personal level.
“Being an athlete, I had so many opportunities, including a fully equipped practice facility and a study abroad trip to Scotland. Both were made possible by donors. It almost comes as second nature to give back to men’s golf because it changed my life, and I want to do the same for other student-athletes,” said Seebold.
“I have also seen the benefits of Ƶ donors in my professional life. I was fortunate to personally connect with donors on and off the golf course and get to know the generous people who made my Ƶ experience everything I could have imagined. Their involvement gave me opportunities I would not have had otherwise,” he said.
Giving back to pay it forward
Aliana Harrison ’08 supports the Ƶ Black Alumni Scholarship every year. She chooses to support scholarships to help make it possible for current and future students to attend the university and participate in the full Ƶ experience. “Giving back to Ƶ to support scholarship opportunities is one way that I know I can make an impact collectively with other alumni, faculty and staff,” says Aliana. “For the past 10 years it has been an honor to give back to my alma mater as I know my gift is directly helping a student’s future goal seem even more attainable through an Ƶ education.”
Opening doors for others
For the past 15 years, Jill and TJ Rose ’00 have made annual contributions to their alma mater to areas that are important to them. “We give back to support the ability for others to have the same opportunity and experience we had at Ƶ,” Jill says, adding the growth they experienced as students has inspired their loyal support of the university. “We want to continue to give back as part of our lifelong relationship with Ƶ.” The Roses’ generous support makes them a part of The Ƶ Society, which recognizes the university’s leadership annual donors.
