Who We Are

The Black Student Union (BSU) supports and advocates on behalf of the Black undergraduate students of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ. We aim to enrich student life at the university culturally, intellectually, and socially; to ensure full ongoing administrative commitment of fair, equitable policies; and to strengthen and support the bonds of community between Black ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students and the larger ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and Burlington communities. We shall achieve our goals through the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Black Student Union.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Black Student Union, formerly the Black Cultural Society, is the central governing body and root organization for black students on campus. We promote awareness of black culture and cross-cultural understanding at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and beyond. We are committed to unifying marginalized populations on campus, educating the campus community, and celebrating blackness.  Our goal is to help make ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ a place where everyone truly does belong. Above all, we are a support system. The Black Student Union exists to lift up and aid the success of every black student at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ. We are here for you.
