Our Vision & Goal
The Women of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ is an intergenerational network of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ alumnae, parents, and friends, who come together to create community on campus and across the globe and support the most pressing needs of the university. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ is committed to creating space for this diverse, dynamic community of women to come together and make impactful change.
The Women of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ initiative was born through a series of focus group conversations. In those conversations, women shared that they want:
- More opportunities to engage with the university
- More volunteer opportunities and clear pathways to leadership
- Donors at all levels to feel valued and appreciated
- Flexibility in how women come together to support ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students.
Dream Statement
We are a diverse network of alumnae, parents, and friends dedicated to providing transformational support for each other and for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students. Together, we will grow an inclusive culture of connection and philanthropy and expand our impact on campus and beyond.
Collective Giving to Make an Impact
Women support ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ across multiple initiatives. Through facilitated focus group discussions, building endowed support for internships was chosen as the focus area for the first two-year phase of this initiative (2024-26). Internships serve a critical purpose of setting students up for success after graduation. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s goal is to raise the endowed funds necessary to make internships 100% accessible for any student who wants or needs one.
Quick Stats:
• 88% of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students complete at least one internship prior to graduation
• 43% of these internships are unpaid
Philanthropic Goal:
The Women of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ will increase the number of students receiving need-based internship support. Through a collective effort including both individual and group gifts, a total of $2.5 million will be raised by Spring 2026.
Women of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Fundraising Toward Goal
The minimum gift commitment to establish an endowed internship fund at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ is $50,000. This can be paid over five years and generates approximately $2,250 in annual support. During this initiative, women are encouraged to gather a group of friends and pool their resources to create a collective endowed internship fund. For more information about making an endowed gift, please contact Emily Majmudar at emajmudar@elon.edu.
For donors wanting to support the effort but not at the endowment level, annual gifts can be made to the Women of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ fund. These gifts go directly to supporting ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ interns with current need. To make an annual gift to the Women of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ fund, click the button below.
