Ƶ Comm Student Ambassador Program

An Ƶ student talks to other students.

The School of Communications student ambassadors assist with facilities tours, staff admissions events, join recruiting efforts at national conferences, identify award-winning high school students, assist with educational workshops, mentor, and perform other outreach efforts. Students interested in becoming ambassadors must be current first-year students, sophomores or juniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA and a School of Communications major (though current sophomores and juniors are preferred). They also must have demonstrated involvement or leadership in a student media or School of Communications organization, as well as strong public speaking and writing skills.

Hiring for the program occurs during the spring semester for the proceeding academic year. Interested students should complete the application below. Qualified candidates will participate in an in-person interview with Colin Donohue, who oversees the student ambassadors program and serves as the school’s director student engagement and special projects and an assistant professor of journalism, and current ambassadors. The position pays an hourly rate.

Abby Gravely

Abby Gravely '27

Abby Gravely is an Honors Fellow, triple-majoring in journalism, media analytics and digital content management. She is originally from Richmond, Virginia, and currently works as a multimedia journalist for Ƶ News Network, where she has experience reporting, anchoring and producing. Her favorite experiences with ENN include traveling to and reporting on the 2024 Democratic National Convention and serving as producer of ENN’s digital news show, “ENN On-Air.” She is a mentor through Ƶ’s Emerging Journalists program and a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. Outside the School of Communications, Abby is a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and runs social media for a nonprofit summer camp.

Kira Hancuff

Kira Hancuff '28

Kira Hancuff is a Communications Fellow double majoring in cinema & television arts and digital content management with a minor in creative writing. Kira has been an impactful member to many organizations within the School of Communications. As an account executive for Live Oak Communications, she has had the privilege of working on the account team for The Mark and being a member of the Rooted in Community initiative. In Cinelon Productions, she has had the opportunity to join student sets in a range of roles — from PA to producer. She has also served as a crew member for Ƶ Student Television’s game show “Win Stuff” and took advantage of FreshTV in her first semester on campus. Outside the School of Communications, Kira has completed an internship with the Student Professional Development Center doing video production, and she can be found leading prospective students as a tour guide for the Office of Ƶ. She has also been recognized with an Award of Excellence from the Broadcast Education Association for her project, “Maker Hub Promo,” and is a member of the creative team for the award show.

Halli Harwood '26

Halli Harwood '26

Halli Harwood is a Communications Fellow majoring in Strategic Communications and minoring in Business Administration. Harwood is a member of Live Oak Communications, Ƶ’s student-run marketing and advertising agency, where she has served as a branding executive, account executive and assistant agency director. Harwood is also completing undergraduate research on cruise lines and their environmental and sustainability messaging. In the summer of 2023, Harwood participated in Ƶ in LA, where she interned with ALLY LA, and she studied abroad in Sydney during the 2024 spring semester. Harwood is excited to serve as a student ambassador for Ƶ’s School of Communications, and she can’t wait to connect with prospective students.

Frannie Merlino

Frannie Merlino '28

Frannie Merlino is double-majoring in sport management and digital content management. Frannie is from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where growing up around Philadelphia sports shaped her passion for the industry. At Ƶ, she is an active member of the Ƶ Sports Vision production team, contributing to 30+ live broadcasts across replay, graphics, camera, score bug, technical director and audio roles. She also serves as a social media specialist for the athletics department, creating engaging digital content for teams and fans. In January 2025, Frannie completed her digital content management internship with NBA All-Star Jalen Brunson’s Second Round Foundation. There, she created campaigns for the nonprofit’s various social media platforms. In the fall of 2026, Frannie will participate in Study USA Charlotte: The Sport Experience to continue expanding hands-on experience in the sports industry.

Charlotte Pfabe

Charlotte Pfabe '27

Charlotte Pfabe is a Communications Fellow, studying journalism, with a minor in music production and recording arts. Charlotte is from Annapolis, Maryland, where she grew up following current events and news coverage from Capitol Hill. Her passion for journalism and storytelling is reflected in her work with Ƶ News Network as a multimedia reporter and former managing editor of elonnewsnetwork.com. She has covered numerous events around the local community, including Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s visit to Greensboro, North Carolina, during a campaign stop for the Harris-Walz campaign. With ENN, Charlotte has served as the producer for “ENN On Air,” the network’s digital news show, and also works in the control room, reports and anchors for “ENN Tonight,” the weekly live broadcast. Charlotte also works with WSOE 89.3 FM, Ƶ’s student-run radio station, and hosts her very own radio show. Charlotte serves as the secretary treasurer for Ƶ’s chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and during the fall semester 2024, she served as an orientation leader and a peer educator, mentoring new Ƶ students. One of Charlotte’s favorite memories with ƵComm is her trip to Florida during Winter Term with the Communications Fellows program to tour professional news stations, production studios, PR firms and even the Tampa Bay Rowdies stadium.

Taylor Radney

Taylor Radney '28

Taylor Radney is a strategic communications and digital content management major, who is actively involved in several student organizations across campus. She is a member of Live Oak Communications, Ƶ’s student-run marketing and advertising agency, and serves as social media manager for PRSSA. Taylor is also a writer and podcast host/manager for The Edge Magazine, where she contributes bi-weekly articles and helps lead creative content initiatives. In addition, she has been involved with Ƶ News Network’s design and media analytics teams.

Lily Rosenberg

Lily Rosenberg '28

Lily Rosenberg is a double major in sport management and communication design. Lily is a student employee for Ƶ Athletic Communications and Creative Services. For Ƶ athletics, she works as a photographer, public address announcer and stats writer. Lily also serves as the communications and marketing chair for For Every Step, a non-profit organization aimed at fostering support and community for individuals with movement disorders, specifically through mental health care. In this work, she updates multiple social accounts, creates a weekly newsletter for participants, and creates graphics for both social media and foreverystep.org. Lily will be study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, during the fall 2026 semester. Lily takes a particular interest in public outreach and is excited to serve as a student ambassador for Ƶ’s School of Communications and connect with potential students.
