Alamance-Burlington School System

Advocates are Alamance-Burlington School Systems (ABSS) staff members, passionate about student success and college access, who volunteer to serve as liaisons between our program and their school. Advocates play a vital role in actively promoting ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Academy to students and families to assist with community outreach and recruitment. This includes collaborating with the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Academy for info sessions, general promotion, application assistance, and support throughout the selection process. Additionally, they collaborate with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Academy staff to support Scholars within their schools. Their insights are invaluable in keeping ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Academy staff informed about significant academic and social challenges faced by Scholars allowing for timely support, intervention, and a coordinated approach to develop a network of support.
