Professor Steve Friedland’s appointment as associate dean for innovation in engaged learning in law will help ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law continue to identify and promote better ways to prepare today’s students to serve as leaders in the legal profession.

Virginia attorney Robert J. Grey Jr. will offer wisdom to graduates on May 20, 2017, in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s final springtime Commencement as the school fully transitions to its new 2.5-year curriculum.

This will be a second time University Chaplain Jan Fuller has headed the national group, which includes close to 200 members. 

The students join a global community of Fellows charged with increasing campus engagement with innovation, entrepreneurship, design thinking and creativity.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ trustees met on February 27 and granted tenure and approved promotions for several faculty members.

DeJoy, who built New Breed Logistics into a leading contract logistics solutions provider, was presented with the medal at a March 1 ceremony at the Koury Business Center. 

Amy Mullan is competing for a highly competitive national fellowship awarded each year to those with goals of working in public service or government. Winners will be announced in April. 

The Pendulum and Colonnades won Best of Show awards, while several students were honored for their reporting, design, photography and writing.

Thirty-eight candidates in the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program received degrees Sunday in a Whitley Auditorium ceremony featuring remarks from Reginald Carter, Duke University professor emeritus and historian emeritus of the Society for the Preservation of Physician Assistant History.
