ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students give back to Greensboro

On August 18, the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Class of 2013, along with second-year and third-year law students, participated in the fourth annual “ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Reaches Out” community service day. During the event, more than 150 law students assisted the work of eleven nonprofit and educational organizations in the Greensboro community.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students Whitney Butcher, Daniel Joyce, and Benjamin Snyder were featured in the August newsletter of the Legal Aid of North Carolina-Winston Salem Office, for contributions as law clerks at LANC serving individuals in the region who are unable to afford private legal representation.
Delta Theta Phi professional law fraternity inducts newest members

On September 14, the Nathanael Greene Senate of Delta Theta Phi (DTP) held its fall initiation at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law in the Robert E. Long Courtroom. DTP was proud to welcome thirteen new members into its third pledge class.
Lu Johnson selected as Senior Editor for Southern Region Black Law Students Association Law Journal

Lu Johnson, a member of the Class of 2011 at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law, was recently selected as a Senior Editor for The Southern Region Black Law Students Association Law Journal (SRBLSJ). The Journal, established in 2005, was created "as an answer to law students' and other professionals' concern of a lack of a representative voice for issues facing southern Blacks," its website states.
Sixty-five ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students initiated into William Hooper Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta

On September 22, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law's William Hooper chapter of the professional law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta initiated its fourth pledge class. This year the chapter inducted its largest pledge class ever with sixty-five new members. Founded in March of 2009, Phi Alpha Delta now has a total membership of 130.
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Innocence Project hosts ’90s themed fundraiser

On January 19, the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Innocence Project held an event in downtown Greensboro to raise awareness of wrongful convictions. The fundraiser was a '90s themed dance party that was attended by more than 90 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students and helped raise $270 for the Innocence Project. Second-year law students Brennan Aberle and Danielle Appelman organized the event.

2010 Intramural Moot Court champions announced

At the Third Annual ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Intramural Moot Court Competition, held October 26 through November 1, 21 law students earned an invitation to join the law school's Moot Court Board. Scott Morgan and Melissa Westmoreland were the competition champions.
