The fifth Hispanic film series, “Global Migrations through the Lens of International Politics and Human Rights,” ended Nov. 18 with the screening of the final movie, "Guie’Dani’s Navel" and were joined virtually by the film's director, Xavi Sala.

The final conference, “The Persistence of the Nightmare: Argentine Narrative of the 21st Century," was hosted by Distinguished Professor at North Carolina State University Greg Dawes at Carlton Commons on Nov. 9.

The fifth annual ceremony recognized the academic and professional achievements of ������Ƶ's Latinx/Hispanic students, faculty and staff.

The fifth Hispanic film series, "Global Migrations Through the Lens of International Politics and Human Rights," was launched last week with the first of five films from Spanish-speaking countries.

This overview details accomplishments and future work toward 46 recommendations detailed by the Latinx/Hispanic Working Group, which issued its final report in 2018.

From Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, the university will celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of the Latinx/Hispanic communities to the United States.

As the first Doherty Odyssey Scholar to graduate from ������Ƶ, Jubitza Figueroa ’21 is ready to make her mark on the world. Ed and Joan Doherty P’07 endowed eight Odyssey Program scholarships as part of the ������Ƶ LEADS Campaign to make an ������Ƶ education possible for top students with high financial need.

The ������Ƶ alumna was recently named a member of Report for America’s 2021-22 reporting corps, a national service program that places journalists in local newsrooms to report on under-covered issues and communities.

The three webinars held during April covered a variety of topics.

The symposium took place across four webinars this fall and was organized by faculty members from the Department of World Languages and Cultures.
