Greg Honan '14 came to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ planning to study music, but a first-year political science course sparked a passion for politics and writing that shaped his entire career. He now serves as deputy chief of communications for the City of Boston and credits the mentors and community he found at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ for making it all possible.

An innovative audio experience provided a hands-on learning experience for a music production and recording arts student in the Department of Performing Arts with guidance from his faculty and staff mentors.

Outdoor Leadership and Education students gained inspiration and professional experience by presenting research and networking with experts at a national research symposium.

The director of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ College Fellows offered praise for the quality and passion of the hundreds of high school seniors she met during an annual event for admitted students in contention for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s signature academic programs.

An ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ associate professor of mathematics Hwayeon Ryu joined more than 290 mathematicians on Capitol Hill on Jan. 8, 2026, to advocate for sustained federal investment in mathematical sciences education and research, highlighting how federal support promotes undergraduate research, expands access to STEM pathways and strengthens the U.S. STEM workforce.

Students and faculty at the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Mathematics Department attended and presented at the Joint Mathematics Meetings on January 4-7, 2026, in Washington DC.

In October, Kirsten Carrier, assistant dean of campus life and director of residence life and Lucy Sneader, graduate apprentice for the Global Neighborhood, presented at the North Carolina Housing Officers (NCHO) conference in Greensboro, hosted by NC A&T.
