ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Campus Shop offers textbook rentals for fall 2010

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s Campus Shop has launched a textbook rental program that can save students and their families more than 50 percent over a new book purchase. Nearly a third of all titles in the bookstore will be available for rent during the fall 2010 semester – and, yes, students can feel free to highlight passages and write in the margins.

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees elected three new members at its spring meeting. W. Eric Hinshaw of Durham, N.C., Dalton L. (Mac) McMichael Jr. of Stoneville, N.C., and James K. Sankey of Charlotte, N.C., will join the board at its fall meeting, Oct. 22-23.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Jazz Ensemble completes European tour

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of associate professor Jon Metzger, completed this month a performance tour of The Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. The 18-piece jazz ensemble played at international festivals and schools, gave jazz improvisation workshops, and showed their versatility by also performing two classical music chamber concerts.
