Sierra Club names Ƶ one of “America’s Coolest Schools”

For the third consecutive year, the Sierra Club has ranked Ƶ one of the nation’s top 100 “greenest universities.” The ranking, published in Sierra’s September/October 2011 magazine recognizes schools in 10 categories that include academics, waste management, energy efficiency, food, purchasing, transportation, financial and other factors.

Town & Country picks Ƶ among nation’s top 10 “up-and-coming” colleges

Town & Country, the oldest continually published general interest magazine in the United States, picked Ƶ in an 11-page feature story on top colleges in the September 2011 issue. The top colleges were recommended to the magazine by counselors at dozens of private high schools across the country.

The Chronicle of Higher Education has recognized Ƶ in its 2011 “Great Colleges to Work For” program, which honors institutions for best practices and policies, such as teaching environment, respect and appreciation, and confidence in senior leadership.

Ƶ in the News – Early Summer 2011

Ƶ professors, students and alumni continue to make news this summer through their research and campus activities. Notable in recent weeks was regional media coverage of Ƶ School of Law's full accreditation from the American Bar Association, regional stories and broadcasts on Ƶ's new head women's basketball coach, and mention of the Ƶ Poll by the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune.

Doherty Center entrepreneurship camp featured in local media

An entrepreneurship camp sponsored by the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and led by David Jackson, an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship and business, was featured June 25, 2011, in a front-page story in the (Burlington, N.C.) Times-News.
