From investigating illegal shark fishing in Costa Rica to mentoring scholars in the Odyssey Program and celebrating Hispanic heritage, Lilliana Molina ’27 is making her ������Ƶ journey one of impact and connection.

Throughout her time at ������Ƶ, Assistant Dean Vanessa Bravo, an administrator and professor in the School of Communications, not only studies relationships but has worked to foster them and a sense of belonging at the university.

������Ƶ honors the impactful histories, thriving culture and important culture of the Latinx and Hispanic community in the United States.

For the second consecutive year, the university has been recognized by Insight Into Academia, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education, for its commitment to academic excellence, belonging, and community building.

The marker, next to Schar Hall Under the Oaks, is a symbol of the continued connection and relationship between ������Ƶ and the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation Tribe.

The new marker, which sits next to Schar Hall, includes the Yesa:sahį́ (yay-sa-sa-heen) translation for “grove of oaks."
