The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Poll conducted a survey following a recent decision to hold a new election in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District, with one in five voters saying they are ‘not at all confident’ in the fairness of future elections. 

The poll, conducted in collaboration with the N.C. General Assembly Program Evaluation Division, also found that about half the state agrees with keeping ABC stores closed on Sunday. 

Jason Husser, associate professor of political science and director of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Poll, was invited by WFMY News, the local CBS affiliate, to offer commentary on the shutdown and its impact on the 2020 presidential election. 

Husser offered his insights in the controversy surrounding the 9th District Congressional race in North Carolina for the nightly national FOX News program. 

The poll results released Oct. 11 examined how N.C. voters prepared for Hurricane Florence and how their thoughts about climate change have shifted over time.

Husser discussed the results of the most recent ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Poll that asked about changes in opinions about climate change in the wake of several hurricanes and storms that devastated North Carolina.  

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Poll also explored how North Carolinians were impacted by Hurricane Florence, how they might confront the next hurricane that hits the state and how they believe leaders responded to the storm, among other topics.

A new ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Poll found that support for two constitutional amendments to appear on the ballot this fall shifted when voters received additional explanation of what the amendments entail.
