Following an all-star caliber season with the Burlington Sock Puppets, the sport management major was recently recognized for his contributions to the community during the 2023 season.

Strawley plans to chart a bold path for the next chapter of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Athletics through student and community engagement.

The university hosted a press conference at Schar Center on Friday, July 21, to introduce Jennifer Strawley to the community as the institution’s 20th director of athletics.

The move follows the addition of new members to the conference and a new vision for the CAA.

Strawley will become the 20th director of athletics at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ. She will begin her tenure at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ on Aug. 1.

The Phoenix men's basketball, men's soccer and women's soccer programs were recognized for having the highest collective grade point average in each of the 22 sports sponsored by the CAA during the 2022-23 academic year.

Strawley comes to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ from the University of Miami, where she has served as the senior deputy director of athletics. She will begin her tenure at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ on Aug. 1.

Kirby, a standout for the Seattle Mariners, will be the first ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ player since 1956 to appear in the "Midsummer Classic."

Among the four Phoenix athletes honored were Olivia Archer (women's tennis), Madison George (women's outdoor track & field), Jeppe Jordoson (men's soccer) and Daniel Martin (men's tennis).

This year's class of inductees includes representatives from athletic training, women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's soccer, men's basketball and men's cross country.
