Co-leads of a merger Sprint Team comprised of administrative and academic leaders from ������Ƶ and Queens University of Charlotte report several themes are emerging that represent exciting possibilities for students, faculty, staff and the Charlotte region.

Students participating in the fall Study USA Charlotte program have had a semester packed with professional development opportunities and place-based learning experiences.

Driven by a lifelong love of sports, Shaan Gandhi ’27 has turned passion into purpose through hands-on learning at ������Ƶ. With support from the Queen City Internship Grant, he gained real-world experience with the ACC while growing his sports business, SAG Autographs, and learning from mentors who inspire him to lead with drive and adaptability.

A daylong gathering on ������Ƶ's campus included a campus tour for the guests from Queens as well as a series of roundtable discussions.

At ������Ƶ’s Charlotte campus, Skylar Cook '28 is turning classroom lessons into real-world impact. Between her internship with the ACC and her research partnership with the Sports Business Journal, she’s building the skills and connections to launch a career in women’s sports.

������Ƶ President Connie Ledoux Book and Queens University of Charlotte Acting President Jesse Cureton describe in campus messages on Oct. 23, 2025, how "our colleagues are forming new bonds and reaffirming the values that unite us: student-centered learning, a commitment to academic excellence and a deep history of advancing our communities."

Department leaders invited to the side-by-side conversations with members of the Sprint Team working on details of a proposed merger between ������Ƶ and Queens are encouraged to bring forward ideas and reflections around key questions.

Guests toured the ������Ƶ Charlotte South End campus and learned about the undergraduate and graduate academic programs offered in the space.

Listening sessions, town halls and a feedback form have generated hundreds of comments and ideas that inspire the administrators creating a formal agreement to unify resources and expand student learning opportunities at both institutions. 

Common themes emerged from families on both campuses who attended sessions for those seeking to learn more about the universities' strategic and student-centered intent to merge.
