The university’s oldest living alumnus – who in October 2013 took part in Fall Convocation’s “Long Maroon Line” as a tribute to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s 125th anniversary year – died Monday in his sleep in Durham, North Carolina.

The university’s three living presidents were honored at a special Founders Day College Coffee and tree planting on Tuesday as the institution celebrated its quasquicentennial with students, faculty and staff wearing maroon and gold as part of “A Day for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ.”
