The Office of University Communications was honored in several categories in the 2014-15 CASE District III contest.

The university’s oldest living alumnus – who in October 2013 took part in Fall Convocation’s “Long Maroon Line” as a tribute to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s 125th anniversary year – died Monday in his sleep in Durham, North Carolina.

With President Emeritus J. Earl Danieley in attendance, the North Carolina Senate recognized ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ on July 2, 2014, in a special statement commending the school for its accomplishments and contributions to the world.

The campus celebrated a special Spring Convocation on April 2, 2014, when President Emeritus J. Earl Danieley ’46 shared reflections from more than half a century of service to his alma mater as a student, professor, dean and president.

Beloved by generations of students and alumni who know him as “Dr. D,” the university’s president emeritus on April 2 will share stories and reflections of his seven decades at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and his hopes for its future. Tickets are now available at the Center for the Arts Box Office and are $13 each or free with an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ ID.

The fourth annual gratitude event celebrated the impact of philanthropy on ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s campus.

Three ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ presidents described their love for the university in a March 11 program that wrapped up a daylong 125 anniversary celebration.

The university’s three living presidents were honored at a special Founders Day College Coffee and tree planting on Tuesday as the institution celebrated its quasquicentennial with students, faculty and staff wearing maroon and gold as part of “A Day for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ.”
