Application deadlines for the Winter Term courses New York and D.C.: Wealth and Poverty as well as Arizona: On the Line in the Immigration Debate have been extended through October 11.

Liz Bailey in the Department of Health and Human Performance, joined by two students studying to be physical education teachers, have teamed this year with a Burlington elementary school as part of a national initiative led by First Lady Michelle Obama.

In ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s 2013 Baird Pulitzer Prize Lecture, author Taylor Branch reminds his audience that despite progress born from the civil rights movement, the American system of government and its democratic principles remain fragile.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Hillel asked students on Tuesday to take a stand when they hear or see others make intolerant or hateful comments that disregard the cherished values of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s inclusive community.  

The award includes a film set and $1,200 programming stipend to be used to provide scholarly presentations and exhibit four documentaries with new footage illustrating the history of civil rights in America.

Study USA is accepting applications for our new and exciting Winter Term course Arizona: On the Line in the Immigration Debate through Oct. 1.

Gilman Scholar Jordan Joshua will present the documentary "The Door of No Return" and a discussion on the importance of study abroad for minority students on Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in Oaks Commons 207.

The program takes place at the Sklut Hillel Center from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Conor Grennan spoke Tuesday to a crowded Alumni Gym about his efforts to reunite trafficked children with their parents in Nepal following a civil war that tore many families apart.

The 13 teachers from Asia and South America have started their studies to earn teacher licensure, which will ultimately lead them to apply to the university's Master of Education program.
