The Emergency Legal Services Program, which assists victims of domestic violence, sexual violence and elder abuse at the Family Justice Centers in Guilford and Alamance counties, was renewed for another two years through a grant from the North Carolina Governor’s Crime Commission.

As a philanthropic arm of the legal community, the Greensboro Bar Association Foundation’s gift to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law will help support the school’s expansive print and digital collections, including a Westlaw public access terminal.

"ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law in Greensboro: Past, Present, & Future" featured insights from civic, business, and higher education leaders who shared how the law school has played a role in transforming downtown into a robust nexus of learning and living.

Tickets for the first Distinguished Leadership Lecture of the 2018-19 academic year, postponed from September due to Hurricane Florence, have been distributed. The lecture will be streamed to Yeager Recital Hall on ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's main campus for those unable to attend in Greensboro.

Barbara Cini L'11 will develop and execute a comprehensive development program that includes major gifts, corporation and foundation relations, donor relations, and alumni engagement.

Mark S. Jetton Jr. '06 L'09, a Charlotte criminal defense and personal injury attorney, is the first ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law alumnus selected to the board of judges, lawyers and business leaders who advise the university about the law school’s strategic growth.

To honor a local attorney's unwavering support of her legal studies, student Wendy Smith made a gift to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law that was celebrated June 7 with the unveiling of a plaque recognizing G. Steve Crihfield for his commitment to encouraging students who are pursuing a career in law.

Supporters of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law gathered March 17 for a special luncheon to recognize the collective efforts of community, civic, and philanthropic leaders who helped launch "a law school with a difference."
