The Center for Race, Ethnicity and Diversity Education will host a series of programs throughout November in honor of Native American Heritage Month.

Inspired by her sister’s recovery, Carmencita Rosales ’20 discovered her passion for storytelling at ������Ƶ and turned it into a thriving career as a bilingual journalist and TV host. From launching WSOE’s first Spanish-language show to creating Tu Cita con Carmencita, she brings energy, resilience and representation to every story she tells.

������Ƶ’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month will conclude on Friday with the ninth annual Gala Latina, an event featuring Hispanic food, music, and a celebration of Latinx achievement.

Guided by her Colombian roots, Camila Montoya Posada ’27 finds purpose in connection — celebrating culture, community, and the power of belonging.

For Edward Hernandez ’27, legacy is rooted in family, heritage and community. From leading LHU and El Centro to mentoring future scholars, his ������Ƶ journey reflects the power of giving back and the importance of celebrating Hispanic and Latinx voices.

Throughout her time at ������Ƶ, Assistant Dean Vanessa Bravo, an administrator and professor in the School of Communications, not only studies relationships but has worked to foster them and a sense of belonging at the university.

������Ƶ honors the impactful histories, thriving culture and important culture of the Latinx and Hispanic community in the United States.

Celebrations such as the First-Generation Stole Ceremony, Celebremos!: Graduates Take Flight, Donning of the Kente, and Lavender Graduation highlighted the achievements of students who embraced, and were embraced by, communities of support throughout their college experience.
