The School of Communications dean spoke with PRWeek’s Steven Barrett and Frank Washkuch on Sept. 5 about educating and training future public relations professionals for today’s industry.

The associate professor of communication design and interactive media contributed to a book exploring writing partnerships, groups and retreats, and how scholars can increase their publication capacity and develop their writing skills.

The chair of the Communication Design Department served as the lead of a volunteer staff of 28 photographers and videographers, chronicling a 12-day international event in West Virginia.

The annual institute attracts instructors from across the state and country to discuss topics relating to newspapers, yearbooks, magazines, online content and broadcast journalism.

The student-run agency’s multiplatform awards span eight contest categories, highlighting work created for five real-world clients during the 2018-19 school year.

The grant will support a partnership between the Design For America Studio at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and the YMCA of the Triangle to implement new ways to recruit and retain quality lifeguard staff. 

To further strengthen ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's student-centered learning environment, the School of Communications faculty and leadership decided to move to a new format with six undergraduate programs on June 1.

Emmanuel Morgan '19, Alex Hager '19, Jessica Rapfogel '19 and Anton Delgado '20 were honored by the Society of Professional Journalists for their writing and photography.

School of Communications students Sarah Stone ’19 and Emery Eisner ’22 visited The Burlington School on April 29, reflecting on their experiences serving on the yearbook staff and offering insights on how their college publication comes together.
