Interactive Media master's students Maria Rojas and Cathy Freeman were quoted in a WRAL.com story covering the WWW2010 conference in Raleigh, N.C. The Imagining the Internet Center at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ sponsored FutureWeb, which ran jointly with WWW2010 at the Raleigh Convention Center.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's Imagining the Internet Center, in partnership with the Pew Internet and American Life Project have issued a new report dealing with the future of the semantic Web. Technology experts who participated in a recent survey believe online information will continue to be organized and made accessible in smarter and more useful ways in coming years. There is stark dispute about whether the improvements will match the visionary ideals of those who are working to build the semantic Web.

For the fourth consecutive year, a team from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ has been recognized for its performance in the prestigious Bateman Competition, which annually showcases the work of public relations students around the country. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ was one of 16 teams to receive an honorable mention in the 2010 competition.

World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee and Vint Cerf, widely known as a "father of the Internet" and Google's Chief Internet Evangelist, were among the more than 60 speakers leading more than 20 different events at the three-day FutureWeb conference in Raleigh, N.C., April 28-30. The event was organized by the Imagining the Internet Center of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's School of Communications, and involved more than 40 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students, faculty and staff.
