NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams headlined the public kickoff of fundraising for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s new communications facilities.

Five sport and event management majors helped manage a concession tent during men's and women's golf championships this summer in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and proceeds from their effort will benefit a scholarship program for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students completing sport and event mangagement internships.

Williams will join ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ President Leo M. Lambert at the Waldorf Astoria for the Oct. 16 event, which will include a special presentation about ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s School of Communications.

Two dozen seniors are sharing with classmates how gifts to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ can help future students grow from the same experiences they have discovered through their studies.

Snowberger returns to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s staff from a position at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and will work to enhance ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s relationships with current and past parents. 

David and Kathryn Crowe have seen firsthand the powerful impact education can have on a student.This inspired the couple to establish a planned gift that will provide scholarship funding for history majors at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ parents Eugenia Leggett P'15 and Barry Frank P'15 of Greensboro, N.C., have established the George R. Johnson Dean’s Discretionary Fund to honor Johnson, who recently stepped down as dean of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law after five years of service in the role to return to the faculty.

Forty-three percent of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students in the Class of 2014 - an all-time high participation rate for the Senior Class Giving Campaign - contributed more than $52,000 this year to support areas of campus close to their hearts.

Through the benefit of private support, the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ senior has discovered a passion for human rights and is leaving a lasting legacy on campus.

As part of the university’s Evening for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ spring series, two recent events drew more than 350 guests.
