Two upcoming competitions encourage ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students, faculty and staff to reduce landfill waste.

The newest cohort of scholars will participate in a program that helps faculty integrate sustainability into an existing course.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Phoenix fans at campus sporting events have new opportunities this year to divert waste from local landfills by using dedicated collection bins for food, plastic, paper and trash.

Aileen Kenney visits ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ for an evening talk on Monday meant to engages the community in conversations about renewable energy. Her visit is sponsored by the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Core Curriculum, the Office of Sustainability and the Office of Residence Life.

A contest that debuted this fall challenged students, faculty and staff to reduce the amount of energy consumed in the buildings where they live and work.

A community event organized by students in the fall semester “Garden Studio” course featured pumpkin carving, fall-themed baked goods, music and more in the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Community Garden.
