The gifts from L Carl Allen III and Linwood Grant ’56 will endow financial awards to broaden access to mentored undergraduate research, which prepares students for success in their careers and graduate school.

Alumni, students, families, faculty, staff and friends gave more than $2.5 million in gifts, showed their pride on social media, and attended events around the world in honor of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day.

The annual effort by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students, faculty and staff generates support for cancer research and those battling the disease. This year’s effort raised nearly $80,000.

The gift from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Executive Vice President Steven House and his wife, Patricia House, will support excellence in undergraduate mentoring, a hallmark of an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ education. The couple’s gift is counted as part of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ LEADS Campaign.

The legacy and indomitable spirit of Mark Foley ’94, a walk-on member of the football team, live on thanks to a scholarship endowed by his ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ classmates and friends.
