As the first Doherty Odyssey Scholar to graduate from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, Jubitza Figueroa ’21 is ready to make her mark on the world. Ed and Joan Doherty P’07 endowed eight Odyssey Program scholarships as part of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ LEADS Campaign to make an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ education possible for top students with high financial need.

Associate Professor of Biology Kathy Gallucci and her husband Jim Gallucci designed and constructed a new bench at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ commemorating Gallucci’s retirement after 37 years at the university.

A generous endowment gift from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ parents Paul and Renee Armstrong ’22 will establish a scholarship to support engagement interns who will connect first-year Catholic students with the university’s Catholic Campus Ministry program. Growing endowed scholarships is the top priority of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ LEADS Campaign.

Alumni, parents and friends in eight regions around the country participated in a series of virtual university updates this spring. Now, a version of the update is available on demand to the entire ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community.

Even during this challenging time, two-thirds of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ employees made gifts to the institution in support of student scholarships, athletics programs and more.

The university’s Odyssey Program resonates with senior Koster Silvernail ’21 and parents Shelby and Andy Silvernail P’21, leading to a generous gift that will help high-achieving students with financial need attend ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ. Support for Odyssey and other scholarships is the top priority of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ LEADS Campaign.

The Greensboro Bar Association Foundation’s gift to the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Annual Scholarship Fund provides support for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students who are preparing to positively impact their clients and communities as future lawyers.

A generous gift from Robert and Rosemary Baffi P’17 will increase scholarships in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s nationally recognized Odyssey Program. Creating more endowed scholarships is the top priority of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ LEADS Campaign.

The generosity of alumni, parents and friends has doubled the number of Odyssey Scholarships during the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ LEADS Campaign. The Odyssey Program assists outstanding students with high financial need, including first-generation college students.

The three-day event was held this year entirely over Zoom, and featured activities, performances and speakers.
