ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ President Leo M. Lambert used his opening of school address on Monday morning to emphasize the financial constraints that many families face when deciding on college, and how ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ must continue to expand its scholarship offerings to students at a time of national economic uncertainty.

During the Ever ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Campaign, faculty and staff members have taken advantage of planned giving to make a powerful difference in the lives of students while providing for themselves and their loved ones.

Claudine Moreau, a lecturer in the physics department, is one of three featured poets in the Carrboro Parks and Recreation event "Poetry On Your Plate," which is scheduled for Thursday, April 14.

A record 56 percent of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ faculty and staff have participated in the 2010-2011 Faculty/Staff Campaign, making more than $270,000 in gifts and pledges to the university. As of March 22, 663 employees had made a gift this year to support students, faculty and facilities. In addition, for the second consecutive year, 100 percent of faculty and staff at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law have made a gift to the university this year.
