Glenda Phillips Hightower, the first African-American to enroll as a full-time ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ student, and Eugene Perry '69, the first African-American to receive an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ degree, will have formal portraits unveiled during a McKinnon Hall event.

The honorees are alumni from the past decade who have achieved major professional success, serve as difference-makers in their communities, and loyally support ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ as partners, advocates and investors.

Assistant Professor Buffie Longmire-Avital and young alumna Brenda Reavis '15 have co-authored an article in a forthcoming edition of the Journal of Black Psychology examining the ideal and non-negotiable characteristics emerging adult Black American women look for in potential male partners. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law has created the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Legal Incubator to support ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law graduates who wish to develop solo law practices and to create opportunities for lawyers to provide reduced-cost legal services for low-income residents of Guilford County.
