Behind ������Ƶ's "It Takes A Village Project" are two AmeriCorps VISTAs and recent ������Ƶ graduates who work to maintain the success of the program.

Inspired by her sister’s recovery, Carmencita Rosales ’20 discovered her passion for storytelling at ������Ƶ and turned it into a thriving career as a bilingual journalist and TV host. From launching WSOE’s first Spanish-language show to creating Tu Cita con Carmencita, she brings energy, resilience and representation to every story she tells.

Through her role at Impact Alamance and the success of the Active Alamance app, Nicole McGinty '23 exemplifies how the values of leadership, compassion, and a commitment to community well-being, nurtured at ������Ƶ extend far beyond graduation

Guided by curiosity and a passion for storytelling, Lillian Engel ’19 turned her love of editing at ������Ƶ into a thriving Hollywood career. From campus projects to major films like "Extraction" and "Joker: Folie à Deux," she embodies the power of hands-on learning, persistence and community.

At the nation’s largest college media convention, held this fall in Washington, D.C., ������Ƶ journalism students earned multiple honors recognizing their reporting and creative work.

In between concerts and tailgating and a tough-fought football match, ������Ƶ alumni who returned to their alma mater for 2025 Homecoming shared some of the best advice they received from mentors in college that still helps guide them today.

As part of its 25th anniversary celebration during Homecoming Weekend, the School of Communications honored Wilson for her accomplishments as a showrunner and writer in Hollywood. The milestone event also reflected on the school’s transformation over 25 years – from its early beginnings to a nationally respected program known for producing industry-ready graduates.

Guests toured the ������Ƶ Charlotte South End campus and learned about the undergraduate and graduate academic programs offered in the space.

A ceremony in what was previously known as Global Commons in the university's Global Neighborhood now bears the name of a 1920 graduate described as "a beacon of leadership and intellectual curiosity."

The EAB has selected five new members to serve three-year terms — Whitney Butcher ’09 L’12, Stephen Dahlem ’07, Kristyn Green ’95 P’29, Scott Rehnert ’12 and Peter Walpole ’15.
