Professor Cynthia Fair of the Department of Public Health Studies is renowned for her research into the changes in the HIV/AIDS epidemic. 

Professor Tom Mould from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology becomes ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s second faculty member to receive the honor. 

In her first opening address as ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's president, Connie Ledoux Book focused on planning for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's future while being mindful of the past. Book delivered the address August 20 to a crowd of faculty and staff gathered in the new Schar Center.

In this column distributed by the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Writers Syndicate, Professor of Sociology Tom Arcaro honors the work performed by humanitarian aid workers around the world on Aug. 19, World Humanitarian Day. 

The conference is jointly sponsored by the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, and Teaching and Learning Technologies. 

Eighteen members of the Class of 2022 spent nearly a week working with local nonprofit groups to learn about the surrounding community. 

The annual effort kicked off in 2011 thanks in part to the work of an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ alum serving with the armed forces in Afghanistan. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ President Connie Ledoux Book presented the medallion to two retired faculty members and two steadfast supporters of the university during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized four named professorships during the event.
