The School of Education will welcome new students into the Teacher Education Program during an induction ceremony on Sept. 21, 2017. 

Terry Tomasek, associate professor of education and director of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Academy, has published a chapter as lead author on connections and contributions through research service learning in Science and Service Learning.

Kappa Delta Pi is an international honor society in education. 

Assistant Professor of Education Julie Ellison Justice worked with F. Blake Tenore, teaching faculty and coordinator of English education at Florida State University on “Becoming Critical Teacher Educators: Narratives of Disruption, Possibility, and Praxis.” 

The program will graduate 10 students 

Lecturer in Education Erin Hone '04 and Elizabeth McFarland '19 traveled to Phoenix, Arizona, from June 23 through 26 to promote the School of Education at the National Educators Rising conference. 

Earlier this month, Suzanne Zahner ‘97 was named principal of Abraham Lincoln Elementary School of Kingsport City Schools in Mecklenburg County Schools in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Daniel Martin '16 spent his first year after graduation teaching science at a rural, low-income school in Greene County, N.C.

At a board meeting earlier this month, Wesley Langford Swain '04 was appointed Principal of Park View High School in Mecklenburg County Schools in South Boston, Virginia.

The Alamance-Burlington School System Honors Institute at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, a collaborative effort between the school system and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, is providing a summer enrichment experience for talented and motivated students.
